This part can be used to bypass the original EGR counter box found on later 1975–1979 Bus models. Since the original two-piece cables for those years are often unavailable, this 211-957-801F cable is frequently used as a direct bypass from the speedometer to the wheel hub. Specifically for Left Hand Drive (LHD) vehicles in some catalogs, though it is the standard long cable.
